Power Wheelchair Delivery Process

Power Wheelchair Delivery Process

Whether you’re in the process of getting a new chair or just researching your options, it’s important to know how and when your chair will be delivered. What’s the timeline? Who will be delivering you chair? How will the delivery happen? Does it come assembled and ready to operate? These are all common questions that are important to know the answer to when getting a new power wheelchair.

Timeline

From the time your chair is ordered through Aeroflow Healthcare, it should take approximately 1-2 weeks for you to get your chair (if you live on the west coast this could be longer so be sure to ask your Mobility Representative). After the order is placed, your representative will be notified of its shipping status. Finally, a technician will receive your chair, assemble everything and deliver the chair to you.

Who will be delivering your chair?

If you’re local to Aeroflow, see our office locations here. One of our technicians will assemble and deliver your chair to you. If you aren’t within 1.5 hours of one of our locations, we will use a sub- contractor who will essentially do the same thing except the chair will be delivered to their location instead of one of Aeroflow’s.

How will the delivery happen?

Once the technician has your power chair assembled, he or she will contact you to schedule a time they can deliver your chair. Upon delivery, the technician will show you how to operate the chair, will make sure it fits inside your home, will adjust the chair to custom fit you, and will measure your doorways. Once you’ve signed paperwork documenting you received the chair, you’ll be ready to go.

What happens after delivery?

Once your new power wheelchair has been delivered, the most important thing to do is read the entire owner’s manual. There are important maintenance and operating instructions that will be essential to getting the most out of your chair. The delivery technician will explain most features to you but it’s important to make sure you understand how to charge the chair appropriately to maximize the battery life.  If you have any questions about your chair make sure to contact your Mobility Representative at 844-686-5539.
